Substitutes
To become a qualified Substitute Teacher:
1. Online Application:
Prospective substitute teachers begin by applying online.
2. Email Communication:
After receiving the application, the sub coordinator reviews it. If the candidate meets the initial criteria,
they will receive an email outlining the next steps in the process. This email will detail what additional
documentation or certifications are required to proceed.
3. New Hire Paperwork:
Once all required steps are successfully completed, candidates are invited to come in person to
complete new hire paperwork. This paperwork typically includes tax forms, direct deposit forms, and
other administrative documents.
5. Onboarding and Access to Frontline:
Upon completion of new hire paperwork, the candidate is added to the school district's substitute
teacher management system, Frontline Education. This system allows substitutes to view and accept
available assignments, manage their schedules, and access important information about schools and
classrooms.
6. Start Subbing:
After being added to the Frontline system, substitutes are officially ready to begin accepting
assignments and substitute teaching in the district's schools.
This structured process ensures that substitute teachers are thoroughly screened, trained, and prepared to meet the needs of students and staff within the school district. It also helps maintain a safe and professional learning environment for everyone involved.
